HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE:

As the Assistant Clinical Manager, you will assist the unit manager in providing clinical and administrative leadership for Inpatient Behavioral Health Services.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assisting with managing clinical activities day-to-day operations and long-term planning for the defined psychiatric service.
  • Assist with providing maximum efficiency and effective delivery of quality patient care via a multidisciplinary team in accordance with the Illinois Mental health code and other pertinent regulatory body standards.
  • Accountabilities include: Physician Engagement, Health Outcomes, Associate Engagement Funding, and Our Future Patient Satisfaction Growth
  • Knowledge of universal precautions is a must.
  • Works within and supports a shared governance model.
  • Ability to work flex hours in order to meet patient care needs.
  • Ability to handle crisis situations. May at times come in contact with violent patients therefore knowledge of techniques to manage violent patients is a must.
  • May be involved in restraining patients.
  • Required to have knowledge regarding normal growth and development normal patterns of adult behavior and look for signs of normal aging.
  • Prior experience with various age groups is preferred.
  • Resiliency and flexibility to deal with a changing environment.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions and in difficult situations.
  • May be exposed to hazardous materials and life-threatening diseases.


WHAT YOU WILL NEED

Education/Experience Required:

  • Registered Nurse license in Illinois Bachelor’s degree in Nursing3 years relevant clinical experience1 year leadership experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Team building skills
  • Ability to cooperate well with others.
  • Utilize critical thinking and timely decision making.
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Ability to prioritize work
  • This position will need to recognize needs and behaviors of a variety of age groups.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Generally exposed to normal office environment.
  • May frequently lift up to 20 lbs. without assistance.
  • Must be able to sit, stand and walk majority of workday. Must be able to reach forward and above shoulder, bend/stop, twist torso, squat, and kneel.
  • Must have functional speech, vision, and hearing.
  • Will be exposed to chemical hazards; therefore, must have ability to wear protective clothing as needed.
  • Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
